The Independent Film Channel is fast becoming the go-to
Alias Seasons 1-5 DVD boxset for cancelled shows in need of a second lease on life. IFC recently picked up Judd Apatow's cult comedies Freaks and Geeks and
Arrested Development Seasons 1-3 DVD boxset from Paramount, where they will join Arrested Development as part of the network's growing collection of salvaged programming. Freaks and Geeks will premiere on IFC tomorrow, July 2 at 11PM, with encores on Mondays at 11PM and Sundays at 10PM.
As Time Goes By Seasons 1-9 DVD boxset will make its debut on the network this fall.
Apatow produced the high school comedy-drama Freaks and
Battlestar Galactica Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset from 1999 to 2000 and its college spin-off Undeclared from 2000-2001, both of whose single-season runs garnered rave
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Seasons 1-7 DVD boxset but poor ratings, leading to cancellation. The series helped launch the careers of Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, and
Alias DVD, as well as Linda Cardellini and Busy Philipps.
"These acquisitions help further solidify
Arrested Development DVD as the destination for programming that shares an off-kilter sensibility with its audience, particularly within the comedy genre," said
As Time Goes By DVD, IFC's executive Vice President and general manager. "Judd Apatow is a comedic genius with a loyal fan base of young men. This same
Battlestar Galactica DVD comes to IFC for new and rescued shows they can't find anywhere else. Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared will be right at home on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD alongside other comedies, like Arrested Development, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Whitest Kids U' Know, and the upcoming The Increasingly Poor
Alias DVD set of Todd Margaret from David Cross, and Onion News Network."
On iPhone 4 drop day, half of the free world was waiting for their '
Arrested Development DVD set' device from Apple. Some, it appears, waited longer than others, and 'Arrested Development' star Jason Bateman
As Time Goes By DVD set cut in line (or was ushered through it, depending on the report). Fanboys cried foul, and Bateman has acknowledged the
Battlestar Galactica DVD set and asked for forgiveness.
Our homegirls at Styleite just posted this priceless video of Liza Minnelli
Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD set her clothing and jewelry collection on the Home Shopping Network. It's the most amazing piece of
Alias DVD boxset we've seen since "Arrested Development." Take a look and remember Liza's sage style words: you don't have to sell it, it sells you.
The inevitable happened yesterday as Party Down—the very
Arrested Development DVD boxset comedy series with a very limited audience—was canceled after two, mostly hilarious seasons. Though considering Adam Scott, the male lead, left for the greener pastures of network television and Parks and Recreation (let's use "greener" lightly here: Parks and
As Time Goes By DVD boxset is yet another cult comedy series that could be on the wrong end of a network pick-up after next season), the death of Party
Battlestar Galactica DVD boxset was in the cards for quite some time. Still, that didn't stop a cabal of comedy nerd lovers (read: television critics and cool kids on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD boxset) from bemoaning the end of the Starz series. Expect it to take a place alongside Arrested Development in the "too beautiful for this world" category of sitcoms before very long.
But now that the dust has officially settled, what will
Alias Seasons 1-5 DVD boxset to the remaining Party Down cast members—the ones who, unlike Scott, stayed around until the party was over (sorry, couldn't resist). Come
Arrested Development Seasons 1-3 DVD boxset as we try to find a home for all these wayward strays.
Poor Lizzy! Out of loyalty, she turned down a role in the
As Time Goes By Seasons 1-9 DVD boxset sitcom Mad Love (she was eventually replaced by the amazing Judy Greer), only to see that show get picked up for a mid-season run in the same week that
Battlestar Galactica Seasons 1-4 DVD boxset Down hit the skids. There will be no shortage of producers and television executives knocking on her door,
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Seasons 1-7 DVD boxset—consider Caplan to be the next Rashida Jones. As such, expect some NBC comedy to snatch her up before too long. Our hope: Community.
Ken Marino
The veteran comedy actor would be ideal to replace Steve
Alias DVD on The Office, if only because he basically played a poor man's (and cheap network's) Steve Carell on Party Down. Marino has done
Arrested Development DVD forever, but he does seem to possess a sleazy and dangerous side, something he got to display occasionally on Veronica Mars. So how about we find
As Time Goes By DVD a drama—perhaps a Bob Odenkirk-like appearance on Breaking Bad would do the trick?
