Michael Lynche, Dawson's Creek complete series, Angel seasons 1-5, one of the judges' favorite finalists, was nearly ousted from "American Idol" on Wednesday night -- but Simon Cowell and company intervened!

One night after garnering mostly positive feedback for his take on the classic Beatles tune "Eleanor Rigby," Michael wound up in the bottom three alongside Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia.
When Ryan Seacrest revealed that Michael was the singer with the fewest viewer votes, the Top 9 finalist was tasked with impressing the judges into exercising their one-time "Save" option. Singing for his "Idol" life, Star Trek The Next Generation seasons 1-8, The Simpsons 1-21, Prison Break on dvd, OZ complete series, he crooned "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell.
"The frustrating thing is, Babylon 5 dvd box set, Cold Case dvd, Desperate Housewives seasons, we all wish you did something like that yesterday, The Tudors dvds," Simon told Michael after his performance, "and this is why you're in the position that you're in now."
"This is unanimous," the Brit wit continued. "We have decided we're going to see you next week." And so, The O.C 1-4, MIAMI VICE dvds, Prison Break 1 dvd, Dawson's Creek seasons 1-6, Michael was rescued from elimination.
Also on the results show, Medium boxset, Rihanna debuted her new single "Rock Star 101," "Idol" alum David Archuleta sang John Lennon's "Imagine," and Jason DeRulo performed "Whatcha Say" and "In My Head."
