Hope was not very high for Lost; the action drama about a planeful survivors lost on a tropical island. Gilligan’s Island all the more? Not quite. Lost opens with a damaged plane on a beach, surrounded by people who manage panic to escape the wreckage. Jack manages to refugees in a camp group property on the beach - but soon they hear strange noises and see palm trees raped by a giant monster. And when it moves into the jungle with the mysterious junkie rocker Charlie and Kate, they are still living pilot. The pilot shows that there are hundreds of miles of course, and nobody can find it. Then he gets eaten by an invisible monster......
