| A lot of people think Habitrail is expensive but I tend to disagree. You can usually find great cheap sales on add-ons and smaller cages to add on so your mouse has a variety of homes to play in! | |

| Cute! I love the one with the head spot!!!! My mice make huge nests so you can't see the babies! I wait until they are 3days old to hold them, it gives Mom a chance to bond. Are you taking Mom out when you hold the babies? Sometimes a doe will kill her young if she see's someone holding them. I move my Mom's into the play cage and then hold the babies. On day 9 and on they will get in their fur, when the belly fur comes in the females will have nipples, males don't. That is the easiest way to sex them. If you have some that look alike you can mark their tails with a sharpie marker so you know who's who. Males will need to move out at 4 weeks. As soon as those babies open their eyes they will begin zooming around the cage, the bars on that cage are too far apart and they will easily slip out of the cage and get lost. It would be really sad too loose them that way. Wal-mart carries large clear plastic sterilite bins for $10, I cut a section out of the roof and hot glue in wire mesh. You can put the whole cage in the bin with the cage doors open so you don't have to disturb the nest or Mom. | |

| Good idea Pharfly! I don't think that their eyes have opened yet but today is their 9th day birthday so I will take them out today and get pics for you all.
PS I like the one with the dot on it's head too hehe! I hope it's a female so I can keep it.

| I guess I also got lucky because Gerty has seen me handle her babies a couple times now (actually, I pulled a no no on the first day they were born by transferring mom and babies to another cage - I didnt know at the time that I should not - and she still treated all her babies like normal.) and she has no problems with it. After I handle them she just picks them up and stuffs them underneath their towels. Hehe. That makes me glad. | |

| The darker ones are agouti(wild color, the fur is grey, yellow then black tipped and the fur grows in different layers very neat to see) to me, the light ones are ressesive yellow(ry) like Mom, the sootyness on their backs is common and will fade with age, then you have the white one. That one baffles me, it has black eyes, so it's not pew(pink eyed white/albino) Bew (black eyed white) is very rare and hard to breed. So I'm guessing it's a broken agouti or ry with no spots(the mouse is covered in one huge white spot, I believe one of my girls is spotted although she's white) I can tell you now I am 100% sure that Emily did not sire this litter. Agouti is dominate, so Daddy was agouti, he was not a wild mouse tho, you wouldn't get spotted babies from a wild mouse. So it looks like she was preggy when you got her. I can't tell from the pic if it's a boy or girl, try to put them on a piece of glass or a see througnh dish then you won't hurt there tails. The belly fur will come in soon and you'll be able to tell the sexes better then. | |

| CUTE! the colors boys(12th pic from bottom l-r) broken agouti(very nice markings too), ressesive yellow(ry) self, and the white boy is broken ressesive yellow the girls are(from 3rd pic from the bottom l-r) broken ry, broken ry, agouti self, ry self and broken agouti.
Broken refers to the white spotting on them. So if the ones that I said are self's have white on them then they are also broken.
