More suitable for your TaylorMade R9 Irons Empty

The R9 and R9 TP sets are the latest irons from TaylorMade. Both versions are built around a more classic clubhead appearance, as opposed to the Burner line that has a more modern shaping. The Taylormade R11 driver offer better players more workability and feedback, while mid- and higher-handicappers will prefer the R9 set. Both sets, TaylorMade says, provide enhancements for greater distance.
The long and middle irons in the Taylormade burner superfast 2.0 driver set are all about distance, while the short irons were designed separately with a focus on control and accuracy. Irons 3 through 6 incorporate a "Velocity Control Chamber" (VCC), an enclosed compartment sitting behind the ultra-thin clubface and that allows more of that face to be unsupported for more flex and rebound at impact.
The R9 TP irons share the more classic look, but with even more tour-preferred shaping: a more compact head, semi-straight leading edge and semi-square toe, thinner topline, and a thinner sole that is cambered and beveled. The VCC exists in 2- through 5-iron in the R9 TP set.
The R9 irons come stock with KBS 90-gram steel shafts in stiff or regular flexes; the Taylormade R11 Irons with KBS Tour Series steel shafts. The R9 model is also available with Fijikura Motore graphite shafts.
A set (3-PW) of TaylorMade R9 irons carries an MSRP of $999 with steel shafts and $1,249 with graphite; sand wedge and A-wedge are available separately. The R9 TP irons are available with steel shafts only and carry an MSRP of $1,125 for a 3-PW set (2-iron and A-wedge available separately). Both sets hit retail on Nov. 1, 2009.
